Flatwater Festival, August- Chico Paddleheads is a non-profit group founded over 20 years ago as a way for paddling enthusiasts of all ages, abilities and interests to get together for fun on the water. Flat water kayaking and canoeing are some of the fastest-growing hobbies in America. The Chico Paddleheads is sponsoring the Flatwater Festival as a way to introduce families, kids, adults and seniors to this fun, green, and affordable sport. The Flatwater Festival will feature:
- FREE Flatwater Races (any type of paddled boat)Slalom - Push a ball through a course using just the nose of your boat.
- FREE Down River - Paddle down the Sacramento with your friends and family.
- FREE Boat and Fly-fishing Demos
- FREE Boater SafetyProfessional kayak instructors will give talks and demonstration of essential boater safety techniques VendorsLocal vendors will provide paddling information and products.
